The main purpose of our Community Tennis Ladders is to connect local tennis players to other players of a similar level, in an environment that is safe, inclusive, and fun for all! We have singles ladders available for the following levels (3.0/3.5/4.0) on the NORTH SHORE, VANCOUVER/BURNABY, and LANGLEY/SURREY.
Why play in the CJTennis Community Tennis Ladders?
- To meet new people at the same NTRP Level, either you don't have many hitting partners, want to expand your tennis circle, or are new do the city.
- An affordable alternative for competitive matches, a one-time $25 payment enters you into the season long tennis ladder.
- A low-stress alternative for competitive play, if you lose you get bumped down the tennis ladder but you never get knocked out.
- We use the Tennis Rungs system and app, the easy to use interface makes it easy to challenge, accept challenges, log scores, and view the standings!
What is the Duration of the CJTennis Community Tennis Ladder Season?
- Our tennis ladder season starts on April 1st, and lasts until Sept 30th (depending on weather may extend to Oct).
- New players can join the tennis ladder at ANY time, and players can choose to leave the tennis ladder at any time.
General Ladder Rules (via 'Tennis Rungs')
- You may issue 1 challenge(s) at a time
- You can only be challenged by one player/team at any given time. This prevents outstanding challenges from accumulating against you
- You may challenge up to 5 spots.
- If the challenge is successful, you will take the spot of the person you challenge and your opponent will be bumped down 1 spot.
- If you hold a wildcard, you may challenge anyone above you.
- An additional wildcard will be granted after 7 matches have been played.
- If challenged, you will have 1 days to "Accept" or "Deny" the challenge or the challenge will be considered a "forfeit" and the challenger will be granted the win.
- By accepting a challenge, you agree to play the challenge within 7 days after the date of acceptance.
- If you cannot play within 7 days, simply "Deny" the challenge and the challenger will be rewarded the win and can move on.
- If a challenge is accepted and not played within 7 days, it will expire and the challenge will be deleted from the system and will have to be re-issued. Of course, since rankings continually change, a re-challenge may not be possible.
